GREG BUTTRICK- CHIEF INVESTIGATOR / OWNER

Greg Buttrick is a retired Law Enforcement Officer after 25 years of commendable service. He currently is the Chief investigator and owner of Best Private Investigations. He has many years of investigative experience to include, back ground checks, investigative reports and surveillance, all of which have helped to solve both criminal and civil cases. Greg has received numerous awards throughout his career, to include the 2014 Central Florida Humanitarian of the Year. In the years 2019 – 2025 Best Private Investigations was voted “Best Private Investigation” agency in Melbourne Florida.

PAUL ALFREY- PRESIDENT – CONSULTANT

After a successful tour with the Coast Guard, Paul Alfrey spent over twenty years in Law Enforcement and served as a Canine Officer, Field Training Officer and Street Crimes Officer. He is licensed in Insurance, Home Inspection and Construction and a primary consultant to many Investigations. Paul is also familiar with government and the intricacies associated with governmental relations.

SHELBY ROCHE- PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR

Shelby Roche is a Texas native who has proudly called Brevard County home for the past two decades. A graduate of Viera High School in 2010, she went on to earn her Special Effects Makeup Certification, as well as an Associate degree with a focus in Accounting and Finance.

With more than 16 years of experience in the Brevard County service industry, Shelby has developed exceptional communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Since obtaining her license in 2021, she has also gained valuable fieldwork experience, further strengthening her industry knowledge and professional expertise.

As a dedicated mother of two boys, Shelby brings a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a people-first approach to every aspect of her role. She is an integral part of the team, overseeing backend operations and office management with efficiency, professionalism, and care.

SEAN FENNELLY- PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR

Sean Fennelly is a licensed Private Investigator in Florida and a licensed Executive Protection Professional in Florida and South Carolina. He began his investigative career in 1995 as an intern for the WAGA TV Fox5 Investigative Team in Atlanta. In July 1996 during the Atlanta Summer Olympic Games, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an Investigative Specialist with the Special Surveillance Group, conducting undercover operations for the International Terrorism and Foreign Counterintelligence Units out of the Atlanta Field Office.

TARA NELSON –INVESTIGATIVE INTERN

Tara was born and raised in the sunny landscapes of Brevard County, Florida. Tara is a dedicated mother to a teenage daughter, balancing the demands of parenthood with her professional aspirations.

Professionally, Tara works full-time in the field of pharmaceutical science, where she applies her analytical skills and passion for health to contribute to advancements in medicine. In addition to her career, she is also an intern in private investigations, where she delves into the intricacies of the field, honing her investigative skills and gaining valuable experience.

In her free time, Tara is committed to maintaining an active lifestyle, enjoying fitness activities that keep her energized and healthy. She also has a passion for traveling, seeking out new experiences and cultures that enrich her life and broaden her horizons. With her blend of professional dedication and personal interests, Tara brings a variety of knowledge and skills to the investigative world.

AUBREY DOWELL – INVESTIGATIVE INTERN

Aubrey Dowell was born and raised in Melbourne, Florida. She graduated from Eau Gallie High School and went on to earn her Associate in Arts degree from Eastern Florida State College in 2023. She then attended Florida State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2025.

Aubrey is a highly motivated and self-driven individual who has successfully balanced her academic pursuits with hands-on experience in customer service. She is currently serving as a private investigating intern, where she is applying her degree in investigative work. Her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence make her a valuable asset to the team.

PETER F. CRUMMEY- ORIGINAL OWNER/ CONSULTANT

Peter F. Crummey founded Crummey Investigations, Inc.(now Best Private Investigations) in 1985 and it has escalated into one of the foremost investigated agencies in Central Florida. He has an extensive military background, of 25 years of service, having commanded units in the 82nd Airborne Division, 10th Special Forces Group, and he completed 2 tours with Special Forces in Vietnam. Mr. Crummey was an instructor at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center, Combat Surveillance and Electronic Warfare School, and the Command and General Staff College.
